Jordan I.
Diagnosis: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Jordan is doing well. We are going on our Wish Trip soon. I can’t wait. The kids are very excited and ask us each day when we are leaving. Joshua (older brother) is using this to his advantage. He tells his little brothers ‘if you do this for me I will buy you something on the Disney Cruise’. That’s right, we are going on a Disney Cruise through Make a Wish. There are other wish programs, but this is the one we are working with. I need luggage for the trip. I want roller backs so they can carry them themselves and have it for a long time. Plus the airlines have now restricted size and bags.
Jordan’s counts finally came down. I finally just stopped obsessing over his counts and they came down. They wanted to see them come down
just a little more, but I was happy with it! We were to go for chemo and a spinal yesterday but Jordan got up early and got into the cereal (he can’t eat for he has to go into the OR). So I called to see when we can get in next week.
Jordan and Joshua are still in OT and it is going well. Little by little we are seeing improvements. It is a toll for all these appointments. I hope it pays off in the long run…My sister Laura was here for about a week helping out. It was nice to have a little break. She said that I drive more in a week than she does in a month. Shouldn’t moms get a discount on gas? I wish.
I want to thank you for all the wonderful cards and gifts and not forgetting that cancer affects the whole family not just the child with cancer.
I will take lots of pictures from our wish trip and download them on Jordan’s carepage. I don’t think I can download them on Make A Child Smile.

Diagnosis: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

We had some uncertainly for his ANC kept rising. It’s not good if it is very low, under 500. They need to stay around 1500. The Dr. assured me this is normal for a child on chemo for so long. They have increased his chemo and at his last appointment his counts were still up, but the Dr. wants to wait a month or two before they increase the chemo again. They have done a few other tests to see if anything else is going on and we are waiting for those results. Jordan will be on antibiotics for 21 days and then we will go from there.
The new Children’s Hospital is finally done and will be opening soon. It is one of the top Hospitals and it’s nice to finally have private rooms and everything in one building. They will have a PET scanner in this hospital as well. This is great so you don’t have to somewhere else to get it done if needed.
Joshua and Jordan started OT this week. It is just a wonderful place and I feel we are finally on the right path in getting them both where they need to be. We will start doing some things at home to help with this then after the first of the year we will be meeting with Joshua’s school for starters to see how we can help him in the classroom as well. I will just wait until Jordan is in Kindergarten to work with the school regarding his OT.
Jordan woke up Wednesday morning unable to walk He has been really complaining about his legs hurting. I carried him to the table for breakfast. (the boy is no light weight). He was able to walk around after about an hour or so. He can’t walk a long distance without his legs giving out.
A good friend donated a diamond necklace to Jordan in hopes of raising funds for his medical expenses. I believe a website is coming soon. Once the website is up it there will be a link on Jordan’s carepage or you can email if you would like to help promote it.
Just got out of the ER Tuesday night it was a long night. Dr. called me the next day….We are watching him closely….He is doing much better..
We are looking forward to the holidays, spending time with family and friends. It seems to be fast approaching. Though things have been rough for us, we have a lot to be thankful for. A sweet hug before school, a thumbs up with a face covered with ice cream.
I would like to say a special Thanks to each and everyone for all the letters, cards, and packages. If you would like to enclose your email address, so I can send you a Big Thank You! If would cost me a small fortune to even send out postage cards to everyone.
Thanks to all in keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
DeAnna (Jordan’s mom)
